The Premier League confirm that all fixtures on the final day of the season will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, including Newcastle's visit to Craven Cottage.

All games will kick off at 4pm.

2026/27:
Pre-season whispers

Update: Unconfirmed claims have surfaced on Everton fansites of a pre-season fixture for the Toffees against Newcastle at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium.

This isn't the first time that a Magpie visit to the home of Scottish rugby has been mentioned, similar claims emerging ahead of two recent seasons but no fixture arranged.

Manchester United played friendly matches at Murrayfield ahead of both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 PL seasons.

Earlier: With plans for long haul warm-up games abandoned, the focus has turned to whereabouts in Europe Newcastle will be preparing for their 2026/27 PL season.

After previous talk of Austria and Portugal, The Mail report that a training camp is planned at the Spanish resort of La Manga, with one associated friendly fixture.

The Chronicle meanwhile claim that Serie A side AS Roma have been invited to play at Gallowgate.

Update:
Munchen, glad Mag?

Speculation regarding the transfer of Anthony Gordon to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich continues, amid claims that talks over a fee continue with personal terms agreed.

The 25 year-old England international last featured for Newcastle in the defeat at Crystal Palace a month ago, before missing two games due to an alleged injury.

Gordon then returned to the squad but wasn't called from the bench against Brighton or Nottingham Forest. Whether he'll add to his 152 league and cup appearances against West Ham or Fulham remains to be seen.

West Ham (h)

The Magpies play their final home game of the season on Sunday at 5.30pm, live on Sky Sports.

With two games left, the Hammers sit third bottom of the table, two points behind a Spurs side who don't return to action until the following Tuesday.

In other words, Nuno Espirito Santo's Hammers cannot be relegated at Gallowgate, regardless of the final score.

Team:
Lewis Miley, Valentino Livramento, Emil Krafth and Fabian Schar remain unavailable due to fitness issues.

Nick Woltemade will complete a half century of league and cup appearances for Newcastle if he features in this game.

Should he keep his place in the line-up, Jacob Murphy will make his 150th start in all competitions as a Magpie.

Coral rate this game as follows:

NUFC win 1/1
The draw 14/5
WHUFC win 12/5

Update:
Tigers v Saints

The race to join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in next season's Premier League continues with the two sides who will contest the Championship playoff final now confirmed.

Hull City secured their place with a 2-0 win at Millwall on Monday after a scoreless first leg, 24 hours before a 2-1 home success for Southampton over Boro in extra time - again coming after the first leg had ended 0-0.

The Tigers will face the Saints at Wembley Stadium on Saturday May 23rd, unless their punishment for the ongoing EFL charge over alleged spying alters that.

Update:
Toon set for Swiss test

Newcastle will compete at the International U19 football tournament, an eight team event hosted in the Swiss town of Altstatten this coming Friday and Saturday.

United's maiden entry into the tournament that was first staged in 1998 sees them in Group A alongside Croatians Dinamo Zagreb, Danes Brondby and Swiss side St. Gallen.

They'll play all three sides on Friday in games of 2 x 20 minute halves ahead of Saturday's knockout fixtures.

U18s:
Boro blitzed

Boro U18s  0  Newcastle U18s  4

Four second half strikes gave Newcastle U18s their biggest away win of the season in their final game on Saturday.

The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes at a damp Hurworth training ground was when United's Matheos Ferreira shot against the post just before the break.

That all changed nine minutes after the restart when Alfie Seldon fired home and after Michael Mills netted, Seldon struck again to increase his seasonal tally to nine.

Substitute Aaron Epia then made it 4-0, rounding off a fourth successive win for the Magpies and a season that saw them record their
best U18 league placing and points per game return since 2011/12.

Team:
Holland, Old (Taylor 75), Goodbrand (Epia 46), Moran (Gilligan 46), Johnson, M.Miley, Ferreira, O'Donovan, Mills, Koussou, Seldon (Wooster 75). Sub n/u: Flack.

ST waiting list details

NUFC confirm that a season ticket waiting list will open up ahead of next season, with a minimum of 250 available.

Entry to the waiting list is restricted to club members, who can sign up between Mon 18.05.2026 and Sun 31.05.2026.

A ballot will then take place with entrants placed in priority groups according to criteria set by the club. Ballot winners can then purchase season tickets from Wed 10.06.2026.

While the purchase of a 2026/27 membership isn't required to join the waiting list, anyone who doesn't win this ballot would need to continue paying for membership in order to maintain their place in the queue for future ST releases.

While the minimum figure of 250 for this year is set, there's no mention of how many STs will be offered thereafter.

Come on Rory:
Midfielder promoted

Update: Tuesday saw Rory start for Ireland in a 2-0 win over Real Murcia B as part of their training camp.

Following the withdrawal of several players, Newcastle's teenage midfielder Rory Finneran has received a senior call-up from Ireland for a training camp and game in Spain.

The 18 year-old broke into United's U21 squad this season and has been capped by the Irish up to U19 level, but has leapfrogged the U21s to join the senior party in Murcia.

Following the training camp, Heimir Hallgrimsson's side face Grenada at the home of Real Murcia this Saturday.

PS: possible club participation means that Irish players with Premier League clubs including Newcastle's Alex Murphy weren't considered for the Murcia trip.

However the 21 year-old defender could be involved when Ireland play post-season games against Qatar and Canada.

Update:
Friends reunited

The latest backroom staff arrival at Gallowgate is predicted to be James Fowler, who is leaving his position as head of Academy scouting at Rangers for a role within Newcastle's European youth recruitment department.

45 year-old Fowler previously assisted current Magpie Head of Football Strategy Jack Ross when he managed St.Mirren and the pair also took charge of the mackems in 2018.

Fowler wasn't in post at Ibrox however at the same time as current Toon Sporting Director Ross Wilson, as has been claimed by some outlets.

Meanwhile, it's reported that Newcastle have added Oxford United's head of recruitment Scott Mitchell to their staff.

40 year-old Mitchell will strengthen the staff responsible for identifying additions to the club's development squads.

Update:
Sho stopper

The i newspaper report that Shola Ameobi will leave his current role as Newcastle United's loan manager, switching to an ambassadorial/corporate position at the club.

They claim that a replacement is yet to be recruited but that current assistant loan manager Peter Ramage is to remain in post.

Taking up the so-called "loan arranger" post during 2019, Ameobi latterly headed up a team of six staff responsible for those players making temporary departures from the club.

ST holders have 24 hours to apply, 24 hours to determine success, 48 hours to buy.

Success is based on the loyalty point total calculated from applications received. Any applications from ST holders with less points are entered into a ballot, which will have taken place before tickets go on sale.

Regardless of the loyalty point level a game sells out at, to purchase a ticket you must have applied in the initial 24 hour window.

The initial purchase window is divided into two sections determined by a loyalty point division that alters for each game - those successful applicants above that point division usually get two hours head start.

NB: emails from NUFC confirming success may arrive after the purchase window opens - if you think you qualify due to your points total, log on and complete your purchase.

Tickets not bought by successful applicants are then offered to unsuccessful applicants with a reduced loyalty points total - new applications cannot be made at this time.

Only those within the new loyalty point total are eligible to buy - even if you had more, your purchase window has already closed.

PL away ticket prices will remain unchanged at £30 for both 2026/27 and 2027/28.

On This Day in History
14th May

Born Or Died:

1942 Terence Kelly born, Gateshead.
(1957-62)

Coming to prominence in the club's "N's" (nursery side) during the 1959/60 season, centre half Terry signed professionally for United during May 1960.

Converted to a centre forward and playing for Newcastle's Central League side, he was unable to force his way into the first team  squad level and left Gallowgate in 1962.

Joining Lincoln City, Kelly played alongside former Magpies Albert Scanlon and Albert Franks at Sincil Bank for a season before being given a free transfer.

The Wrekenton native was linked with a return "home" to Gateshead, but signed for Southern League Cambridge United.

That was short-lived though and within weeks he appeared for Rugby Town in a friendly before signing for Stamford.

Terry was living in Lincoln at the time of his death in September 2020.

1954 Eric Steele born, Newcastle.
(1972-73)

Goalkeeper who was capped by England at U19 level before joining Newcastle from Wallsend Boys Club in July 1972.

Failing to make a senior appearance at SJP, and impatient at being overlooked by Joe Harvey in favour of Iam McFaul's understudy Martin Burleigh, Steele joined Peterborough United in December 1973, initially on loan.

Moving on to Brighton and Hove Albion in early 1977, Eric made made a triumphant return to SJP in May 1979 as the Seagulls won to gain promotion to Division One.

Later transfers took him on to Watford, Cardiff City, Derby County, Southend United. Mansfield Town and Notts County before hanging up his gloves during 1989.

Beginning his coaching career back at the Baseball Ground, Steele had spells at Leeds United, Manchester City, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town - working overseas in the close season with his own coaching school in places as diverse as Australia, Belgium, Germany, Holland and the USA.

Returning to Derby County in 1996, a further five years with the Rams followed before a similar stint with Aston Villa.

August 2008 saw Eric swap Manchester City for Manchester United - via a brief diversion to Blackburn Rovers - and he remained at Old Trafford until May 2013, when he left in the wake of Sir Alex Ferguson's departure.

And by September of that year, he'd made another return to Derby County, assisting manager Steve McClaren.

When the latter was appointed Newcastle boss in June 2015 though, Steele didn't come to Gallowgate with him and instead took a junior coaching role with England.

December 2016 saw Eric agree a short-term deal at Middlesbrough, only to then pick up a knee injury that forced him to stand down until he was able to return to FA work.

1982 Ignacio Gonzalez born, Montevideo, Uruguay. (2008-09)

In the strangest of seasons, the story of this gentleman is perhaps one of the most bizarre of the 2008/09 (or any) campaign.

With Manager Kevin Keegan having gone public to plead for defensive reinforcements, the transfer window closed in September 2008 with two last-gasp arrivals at SJP.

Spanish U21 striker Xisco, made a £5.7m switch from Deportivo La Coruna - while midfielder "Nacho" also arrived from Spain, on a season-long loan from Valencia. Both were sanctioned by Dennis Wise.

However, two things rapidly became apparent - apart from the fact KK knew absolutely nothing about either player.

Although moving to us from Valencia, Nacho had only signed a four year contract with them hours before, having spent six months on loan at Monaco from parent club Danubio in his native Uruguay.

Also, he wasn't fit - and after sorting out his affairs in Uruguay, France and Spain hadn't linked up with United by the time KK quit.

Nacho was named on the bench by Chris Hughton for a home game against Hull City within hours of arriving in England.

Replacing Shola Ameobi during that infamous defeat, the number 15 shirt was sighted again as a late substitute in the loss at West Ham.

That brought Nacho's Premier League pitch time up to a grand total of 38 minutes - at which point he dropped from view, his unavailability reportedly due to a pre-existing hamstring problem.

No more was then heard of the Uruguayan international (who had won his first full cap against England at Anfield in 2006) for two months, when he underwent surgery on an Achilles injury.

It was only following the arrival of Alan Shearer and Iain Dowie that Nacho was mentioned again - said to have resumed training after recovering from his operation.

However, claims that the player was set to make a reserve team comeback proved to be groundless and Gonzalez returned to Valencia as United were relegated.

Loaned out to Greeks Levadiakos, Nacho was named in Uruguay's World Cup Final squad, playing in a 0-0 draw against France in Cape Town during June 2010.

What proved to be his 21st and final international cap came against Angola in August 2010, by which time he was on loan at Spanish side Levante.

However, Nacho returned to Valencia after just four games due to injury and didn't play again until a permanent switch to Belgians Standard Liege in 2011.

Remaining there until a six month loan to Spanish side Hércules CF in early 2013, he was released by Liege that summer.

A free transfer to Uruguayan side Nacional in Montevideo followed and he collected a Championship winner's medal in his second season, also earning a contract extension.

July 2016 saw Gonzalez join city rivals Wanderer on a free transfer, remaining there until May 2021 when he returned to Danubio after a 14 year absence.

Nacho confirmed his retirement in 2022.

1998 Aaron Ramsdale born, Stoke. (2025-present)

Goalkeeper signed on loan ahead of the 2025/26 season from Southampton as the Saints dropped into the Championship.

His move followed United's failure to sign long-term target James Trafford, who opted to make a permanent return from Burnley to previous club Manchester City.

Beginning his career as a junior with Bolton Wanderers, Ramsdale moved to Sheffield United and made his senior bow in an FA Cup victory over Leyton Orient in 2016.

Making a £1m switch to Bournemouth in early 2017 during Eddie Howe's time in charge, he spent the following season on loan at League Two Chesterfield and then 2018/19 at League One AFC Wimbledon.

Becoming first-choice for the Cherries in 2019/20, Aaron suffered relegation from the top flight and exited along with Howe.

Remaining in the top flight when returning to Sheffield United, he was an ever-present for the Blades, but suffered a second successive demotion.

That was followed by claimed £24m sale to Arsenal, where Aaron was first-choice for the first two of his three seasons in N5 before losing his place to David Raya.

A permanent move to Southampton came in summer 2024 transfer window, adding a third Premier League relegation to his CV.

First seen in a Newcastle shirt during the home friendly against Espanyol (when he saved a penalty), Ramsdale's competitive bow came in the League Cup against Bradford City.

His Premier League debut then came as a substitute in in a 1-3 loss at Brentford in November 2025, following the dismissal of Nick Pope.

Injury and lack of form saw the pair share pitch time for both league and cup games that season, neither doing enough to truly establish themselves as clean sheets remained at a premium for United.

The last of Aaron's five senior England caps came in 2024.

What sounds like a feisty affair saw United's Gordon Hughes dismissed after clashing with an opponent in the 69th minute.

In a fighting performance, Wyn Davies broke his cheekbone but United held out for the draw, backed by around 12,000 travelling fans.

Former Magpie Ron Guthrie netted for the recent FA Cup winners in a testimonial match staged for Ollie Burton.

Before kickoff, promising United goalkeeper Eric Steele marked his 19th birthday by facing a series of penalty kicks.

Among those lining up was Burton (who was unable to play in the game), former Magpies including visiting mackem boss Bob Stokoe and members of the press.

The red and whites brought the FA Cup that they'd won at Wembley days earlier.

UEFA Cup qualification was gained by victory in this eventful game, despite falling behind straight from the kick-off.

Paul Cannell soon beat John Burridge in the Villa goal to equalise, before Graham Oates and Cannell again gave Newcastle the lead.

Brian Little then pulled a goal back, but United held on to take both points.

Six years on and Burridge had moved from Villa Park to Molineux, taking to the field game dressed as Superman for the already-promoted home side.

The Magpies were notionally still in with the chance of sneaking into the third promotion spot, but a failure to win coupled with a point for Leicester left them three points and two places short.

This was the last game at St. James' Park where fans stood on terraces, with the Milburn Stand paddocks converted to seating ahead of the following season.

Alan Shearer netted his 300th career goal against a weakened Gunners side who warmed up for their UEFA Cup Final. Unlikely scorer of the final goal was Andy Griffin although the main TV camera failed to pick up his effort.

Shay Given almost got on the scoresheet but his counterpart Alex Manninger just managed to tip a long clearance away from goal.

2005 Fighting talk (aka season-ticket selling talk) from the-then Toon Chairman Freddy Shepherd, with his side 12th in the table on the eve of our last game, against Chelsea:

"If I told you who wants to come to Newcastle, you'd be astounded. Of course they want to come to Newcastle - they all want to come to Newcastle.

"Anybody leaving here, unless they go to Chelsea, is going down. Let's face it, one of the big reasons for Chelsea is the rewards at Chelsea.

"Fine, I have not got a problem with that and I would probably be the same if I was a player. But where do you go when you leave Newcastle?"

Before the following season we signed Scott Parker, Craig Moore, Albert Luque, Lee Clark, Nolberto Solano... and Michael Owen.

And at the time the latter deal was made public, we can honestly say that Freddy's use of the word 'astounded' was valid.

2007 Newcastle convened a 1pm press conference for the following day, with no-one in any doubt that it was to unveil Sam Allardyce as the new manager.

A 1-4 loss at Arsenal confirmed Wigan's Premier League relegation and meant that the mackems escaped the drop.

United's safety had been assured 48 hours earlier thanks to a 2-1 victory at QPR in their penultimate game of the season.

2018 A bizarre situation involving a Magpie unfolded at Chesterfield's stadium as Ireland and the Netherlands played an U17 European Championship Quarter Final.

Tied at 1-1 and with a penalty shootout standing at 4-4, Irish goalkeeper Jimmy Corcoran was dismissed after collecting a second booking for moving early.

He was replaced by
Newcastle defender Oisin McEntee, who was unable to stop the Netherlands netting the winner.

Having clinched the title without kicking a ball a few days earlier - and reportedly partying afterwards - Manchester City added the record for consecutive away wins to their considerable honours list at SJP.

Far from strolling to that 12th victory
on the road though, they encountered
a patient and precise Newcastle side who gave a decent account of themselves apart from failing to repel the rapier-like attack of Pep's side.
