Stats

Our trialist was conifrmed as Amadou Diallo, a 19 year-old left-sided forward/winger who was a free agent after leaving West Ham last summer.

A former England youth international, Diallo spent time at Chelsea recently without earning a contract and did little here in his 55 minute stint to suggest he'll be any more successful on Tyneside.

Newcastle U21s collected their first away point of the season on Friday - but were denied victory by a 94th minute equaliser at Heritage Park.

United led at the interval thanks to a 36th minute strike from Dylan Stephenson, who took Josh Scott's pass and beat 'keeper Max Metcalfe from a tight angle.

Boro came close to levelling on 77 minutes when Mark Gillespie parried Calum Kavanagh's shot into the path of Matthew Hoppe, who crashed the rebound off the bar.

Maintaining a one goal advantage as five additional minutes were signalled, four of those had elapsed when Boro snatched a point following a goalmouth scramble, Joseph Gibson firing home from six yards out.

A counter-attack in the final seconds by United then saw Jay Turner-Cooke take possession in a dangerous position, only to blaze his effort harmlessly wide.

Thanks to GW.
