Newcastle reserves came from behind on Wednesday to extend their 100% pre-season record to three matches.

Goals from Dylan Stephenson, Josh Scott and Charlie McArthur were enough to see off Professional Development League Sheffield United at Little Benton.

Last season's top scorer Stephenson found the net for the first time in the current campaign on nine minutes, making no mistake from close range after a free kick was punched out by visiting custodian Dylan Wharton.

The Blades deservedly drew level in the 37th minute through Jili Buyabu before Will Osula put them ahead in the opening minute of the second period.

Substitute Scott regained parity midway through the second half, before Newcastle won it on 77 minutes - McArthur bundling the ball in for his maiden goal since arriving from Kilmarnock.
